Outlook

Overnight tonight temperatures will be steady in the upper 30s near 40, then in the afternoon, they'll top out in the mid 40s before falling into the mid 30s tomorrow evening. The second, more potent part to our storm arrives this evening and will bring widespread valley rain through midnight and mountain snow through Saturday morning. After midnight, valley rain will become more scattered and will taper off by Saturday morning, ending north to south. Widespread, heavy, wet mountain snow will also taper off tomorrow morning, but isolated snow showers will be possible through the rest of the day. Winds will be strong up in the mountains Saturday with gusts up to 40-50 mph. Valley rain totals will be around a quarter to half an inch. Wasatch Back could see 2-4" of snow, then rain, northern mountains generally around 8-14", the Cottonwoods between 10-20", and the central mountains about 3-6". Sunday will likely start off with areas of fog. Once the fog lifts will have passing clouds across northern Utah and continue dry and sunny weather across the southern half of the state. ?- Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 12.5.25
